SkyPoint Observation Deck

SkyPoint sits near the top of Q1, the Surfers Paradise tower that was, for a time, the tallest residential building in the world. The indoor observation deck on level 77 gives an uninterrupted 360-degree view — the coastline stretching both directions, the Hinterland ranges inland, and on a clear day, out toward Brisbane and northern New South Wales.

What's up there

Beyond the view itself, the deck has a café and bar area, making it a workable stop for a coffee or a sunset drink rather than just a quick photo lap. It's an easy, weather-proof activity — a solid option if a storm cell has rolled through and beach plans are on hold for an hour.

SkyPoint Climb

For a more active option, SkyPoint Climb takes small guided groups out onto the building's external roof structure above the observation deck itself — a harnessed climb rather than a casual walk, and a genuinely different experience from the standard deck visit. It runs as a separate, bookable add-on with its own time slots.

Best time to go

Sunset is the most popular (and most crowded) time slot, for obvious reasons — book ahead if that's the plan. A clear morning is a quieter, still-excellent alternative if you'd rather skip the crowd, and visibility is often at its best before any afternoon haze or storm activity builds.
